How Does a Back Up Generator Work?

A generator will not work properly with low oil. Regularly check you oil level to ensure proper functionality. Be sure to shut down your generator if you are checking the oil during an outage.

Generac offers both 5-year limited warranties and 3-year limited warranties depending on the model you choose.
The black switches on your generator should only be used during emergencies. Accidental shutoffs can lead to a 2800 Error code on your generator’s controller. Here’s are to fix it:
- Flip the black interior and exterior shutdown switches to the ON [I] position.
- On your controller, press OFF and then Enter.
- Press the AUTO button to resolve the 2800 Error code.
If this does not restore functionality to the generator, contact a professional for further service.
